The event runs 5–8 p.m.  http://www.blueridgenow.com/news/20161016/biscuitville-open-late-to-aid-schools  Smoking Billboard On Winston-Salem Highway A Hot Mess For 911 Dispatchers   FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. – It looks like smoke coming from a fire that has lots of drivers calling 911 for help.  However, as you get closer to the smoke while driving down the highway in Winston-Salem you realize it’s not what you expected at all.  Instead, a billboard along the highway is sending smoke into the air and it\'s getting attention for all the wrong reasons. Drivers are calling emergency dispatchers to report a fire in the area.  Forsyth County Emergency dispatchers said they’ve received at least 50 calls about it within the past three days.   The billboard is for Biscuitville’s new Spicy Chicken and Honey Biscuit. The restaurant said it worked with local billboard partners to produce steam to emphasize the heat of the spicy chicken filet.   Biscuitville said it also contacted local fire departments ahead of time and made them aware of the promotional item. My dad started the company 50 years ago, in 1966, in Burlington. We started out with pizza, then biscuits in the morning. Over time, the biscuits were more popular than the pizza, so we decided to change the whole concept to biscuits.  How has the restaurant and the restaurant industry evolved?  When we first started out, we had McDonald\'s and Bojangles\' and Hardee\'s. The competition has really expanded. For me, that is why we have stayed tried and true.  My dad was an entrepreneur to the core. There were probably 150 things that we tried to make stick early on. We tried a jelly bar — you walked in the restaurant, order a biscuit and chose from the jelly bar. It was a cute thing, but nobody really cared about that. When we started out, we had butter, ham and sausage biscuits. Since then, the big sellers are fried chicken, fried steak and pork chops.  Do you still certify your biscuit makers?  Yes. After all, \"biscuits\" is in our name. We have to get it right. We just had our annual biscuit-making contest, and we crowned a crew member and an operator the biscuit-making champions. It’s all about practice, practice, practice. It requires reading over our biscuit-making procedures, which can include the temperature of the oven, how you bake them, and hand-making the biscuits. It’s kind of a show, and people are watching you.  Why did you relocate your headquarters?  We still have our distribution center in Graham. At the end of the day, it comes down to where I live. When we were looking at hiring folks, a lot of people were driving from Greensboro to Graham. We were growing out of our existing offices, so we had to relocate somewhere. We are on the east side of Greensboro. It was important for me to relocate to a place that was convenient to Alamance County.  What are your future plans?  We absolutely plan on growing the company. We just hired a new president, Jim Metevier, and his main job is to open restaurants and grow the concept. In the next 50 years, it’s going to be the Southeast and beyond., We have no plans to franchise. All of our restaurants are company owned, and we plan on keeping it that way   How often do you eat a biscuit?  I eat at Biscuitville several times a week. Some mornings I have biscuits, but I also enjoy lunch. My favorite is the grilled chicken bacon ranch sandwich.  What is your favorite biscuit?  I started with bacon, egg and cheese, and switched to sausage, egg and cheese.  Now it\'s country ham, egg and cheese.'
