'(7 Sep 2012) HUDSON, RICHIE SPEND FASHION\'S NIGHT OUT ON QVC Nicole Richie and Jennifer Hudson were among a handful of designers who were promoting their creations on QVC from 9 pm to 12 midnight during Fashion\'s Night Out Thursday. \"Everything piece is a part of me and it comes from something I\'ve worn or would wear. Every piece, I was very particular about that. Saying like ok, would I wear this or would I wear that? Or it may have even been something that came out of my closet that inspired something, \"said Hudson. Hudson filmed a 12-minute segment selling 13 pieces of her new collection exclusive for the home shopping network. This is the third year that QVC televised its shopping program in Manhattan on Fashion\'s Night Out. Company officials noted that viewership typically is twice what they see compared to other days. Richie also took to the airwaves to sell her collection of 60s and 70s-inspired tops and frocks. \"I am a huge fan of the 60s and the 70s. I love the music of that time I love the overall freedom of that time. So I think that the collection really speaks to that. I think that you can see my inspiration through the collection,\" said Richie. Hudson had something else to celebrate Thursday - she had just wrapped filming for a guest stint on NBC\'s musical series \"Smash.\" \"Oh my god. It was such a great experience. I just wrapped it maybe a few days ago. But It was, there\'s nothing made like it - no show, no theater, any show. It\'s definitely one of its own kind being a part of that. But it was a great experience, very good.\" But don\'t ask the Oscar-winning actress, singer and designer to choose her favorite passion: \"I love fashion like I love music and I love music like I love acting. But they all - fashion is the common denominator in it all. Through music, fashion\'s a part of it. Being in film, fashion\'s a part of it. So they all connect. So don\'t make me choose.\" Celebrities including Kim Kardashion, Darren Criss and Kellan Lutz took the stores in New York City to support Fashion\'s Night Out, which was launched in 2009 in New York by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
