He is another kind and giving person in the clarinet community. We are lucky to have him!  Brad Behn is the Principal Clarinetist of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra and owner of BEHN LLC, a company dedicated to making high-quality mouthpieces, reeds, barrels, bells, and accessories. In 1990, Brad graduated from Northwestern University where he received his Bachelor\'s and Master\'s degrees under Robert Marcellus\'s instruction. And in 1990, Brad started his first job as second and Eb clarinetist of the Tulsa Philharmonic Orchestra. Then Brad went on to Savannah, Salt Lake City, Fort Collins Co, and OKC. Additionally, Brad\'s been an active orchestral freelance musician having performed with many orchestras around the country - including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Utah Symphony, the Colorado Symphony, the symphonies of San Antonio, Naples, Charleston, Cheyenne, Colorado Springs, Greeley, Boulder, etc. Brad has also been a teacher at several universities including the University of Colorado, the University of OK, OK State, and OK City University. Brad\'s professional obligations of being an active performer as well as a teacher and maker of mouthpieces allow for each skill to serve the other. His mouthpieces are better for having an active performance career where he can explore his designs with the valuable insights learned on the concert stage. And his mouthpiece skills have given him unique insights into the playing experience - from the other side of the reed - which enriches his teaching vocabulary. Brad\'s teaching experiences have brought his artistry close to the clarinet playing community which in turn has helped grow his influence into the next generation of clarinet players.
