'Home Gym & Garage Gym: Common Problems using Resistance Bands in Home Gyms.'

Home gym and garage gym construction often do not take into account all training tools - such as resistance band use and how their use may negatively effect your training.  We demonstrate how to use resistance bands with band pegs and without band pegs. We demonstrate 3 different ways to set up resistance bands and how to test their tension.  Resistance bands increase the amount of be applied to your training structures (bench, floors, squat racks) and constructing your home gym and garage gym should take this into account. Understanding how to set your resistance up and how to check their tension will allow you execute your lifts safely. This is will also allow you to understand how much force your bands require to move them a specific distance.  One thing that is overlooked is the effect of been tension during your lifts on your flooring and squat rack.  For example, at the top of your deadlift, than band tension will may 70lbs per side on the bar. Not only is this add an extra 140lbs to the lift, it is also 140lbs to tension pulling up on your rack and pins.  Has your rack been mounted in such a way so as to sustain this force? Set up itself requires careful consideration so that you understand the weight loads that you will be using on your flooring and the effect this will have on the structure of your room or building.
