'Push-ups  Push-ups measure upper body strength.   There is a two minute time limit for this test.   The test begins in the up position.   Tuck in any loose clothing before the push-up test. Place hands approximately beneath the shoulders. In the down position, your thumbs should be within the radius of the shoulder joint.   Your body position should form a straight line through the head, shoulders, hips and feet, and should remain as such throughout the entire motion.   Place feet together or no wider than hips width apart.  Once in the up position, an administrator places and holds a 3-inch high sponge on the ground under your chest. Lower your body until your chest makes contact with the sponge. This contact should be felt (depression of the sponge) and heard (crinkling of the cellophane) by the administrator.   Rising up from the down position, a full, but soft extension of the elbows should be reached. Locking out of the elbows is not advised.  At no time during the test may the lower half of your body touch the ground, such as your knees.  Examinees may rest in the up position only. Stretching in a pike position is allowed, but hands and feet must remain in contact with the floor at all times.   A push-up is counted as complete when the examinee fully returns to the up position.  Push-ups are performed until the 11-point threshold is met or until the two minute time limit is reached.'
